The decarbonisation potential of the paper industry

The paper industry is an important sector for the European industry and for the economy of EU member states. Such is the case of Spain and Portugal, which are ones of the largest paper and pulp producers in the European Union. The European Commission has proposed new EU targets for 2030 for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% compared to 1990 levels. This will imply accelerating the reduction of emissions in the paper industry, as well as in others related to waste circularity and water saving. The Fundación Repsol Energy Transition Chair at Comillas Pontifical University ICAI is organising this webinar, in which this major challenge for paper industry will be covered, as well as the main strategies and solutions that are being implemented.
